10 Favorite Cocktails For Backyard Cooking
Warm weather. Backyard BBQ. Cocktails. They all go so perfectly together.
When it comes to outdoor cooking and spending time on your Backyard BBQ, one can never underestimate the value of a cocktail. But, of course, everyone has their favorite cocktails as part of their BBQ ritual, and since we just wrote pieces about Wine Pairings and Beer Pairings for BBQ, I wanted to make sure I did not leave anyone out — so here we are…talking favorite cocktails.
I know my go to cocktails, and I am certain my go to’s are not anywhere close to a comprehensive list, so I crowdsourced the question to The Weekend Warrior BBQ Facebook Group.
Favorite Cocktails
- White Sangria
- Watermelon Paloma
- Margarita
- Michelada
- Bloody Mary (my favorite for BBQ prep)
- Basil Haydens & Water
- Mojitos
- Caipirinha
- Hunch Punch (Moonshine Cocktail)
- Arnold Palmer (#1 non-alcohol beverage)
Now, that’s what I am talking about. This list is excellent and well-rounded and one I can enjoy. Most of the listed cocktails are refreshing and sound perfect for sitting outside tending to your fire and probing your cook.
My Favorite Cocktail
I am not that fancy of a craft cocktail (or beer) person. For me, give me some Iced Tea, with a splash of Lemonade and a squeeze of a fresh lemon with some Stateside Vodka in a cold glass.
Perfectly refreshing on a hot day while manning the gill or smoker or even after a long afternoon of yard work.
I am sure the list can go on and on. Not being much of a cocktail person, I did not want to speak on what cocktails pair well with what BBQ. This list is one for the cook. The person in the yard making sure the meat is probe tender, probably listening to music, enjoying the sun while throwing the ball to the dog.
A big thanks to everyone who shared their favorite cocktails with me on Facebook – this BBQ Group is the best. (Original FB Post)
I will continue to add to the list as time goes on…but for now, happy grilling. Cheers!
