Nashville Hot Chicken

Grilled Nashville Hot Chicken

I always wanted to try breaded chicken on the grill, so I figured why not go for Nashville Hot Chicken. So glad I did.

The key is knowing that all the heat for the chicken comes from hot sauce in the egg wash. Everything else is pretty much the same as making breaded chicken for the oven. Here are the steps I took to grill my version of Nashville Hot Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken Breasts
  • Egg
  • Milk
  • Hot Sauce
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Flour
  • Seasoning

Directions

  1. Combine milk, one egg, salt and hot sauce and whisk
  2. Pound chicken breasts and dip in the wash — let sit in the refrigerator for 15-20 mins
  3. In a flat pan combine flour, salt pepper, chili powder and bread crumbs
  4. Remove chicken breasts from wash and dip in your dry ingredients
  5. Dip the breaded chicken in the wash again and then once more in the dry ingredients
  6. Pre-heat your grill and oil the grates
  7. Cook chicken on the grill as normal — For this recipe I grilled the chicken breasts 5 minutes per side.
  8. ENJOY

Honestly, I expect this recipe to be a little more difficult, but it was really simple and delicious. Remember tip number one: the heat comes from the wash.
